I WOULD LIKE TO RECOMMEND VIRGIN MONEY CREDIT CARDS ARE MORE CHEAPER THAN THE CREDIT CARDS I EVER SEEN OR USED. YET I DON'T HAVE ONE, BUT MY BROTHER IS USING IT AND HE IS PAYING VERY VERY LOW INTEREST OR SHOULD I SAY INSTALMENT/BUDGET...IF I CAN ADVISE SOMEONE I WILL RECOMMEND VIRGIN MONEY CREDIT CARD. IT THE BEST FOR EVRYONE, RICH OR POOR!

After receiving an email stating my Credit Card has been approved as well as an sms confirmation that someone from Virgin will be contacting me. SMS received 18/04 today still no contact.

Virgin offers great value for money but does not offer a transaction sms service and the card is not a chip card. Recently my Virgin card was cloned and it took Absa's fraud division about 3 days and 8 transactions in 2 different countries to figure out what was happening (inefficient?). I'm not so sure about the chip part with regards to cloning but if there was a sms service I would have been able to notify them about the fraud after the first transaction saving them about R4500 in insurance payouts and me the effort of getting a new card. Two simple upgrades to their system could potentially save them alot of money and customers a lot of hassle.

1 month and 3 days later, after numerous calls,they finally have my details. I'm told they had a backlog & my application was only processed 4 days ago. The card will take a further 2 weeks to get to me! Disgusted!

I tried applying for this card, but it takes forever to get a response. One would think that since sales is a competitive environment that one would get a prompt response. The product looks good on paper but I am fairly disappointed by the service. I was tossed around from consultant to consultant trying to find out about my application.

Standerd bank is not bad the only problem i had was with the kind of service way they speak when you fallen behind example maternity leave after faxing documents through for payment arrangement i was told to borrow money from a family memeber and the IVR you spend more time getting through to then you actually speak.

I had this card for 6+ years, and 1 month payment was missed on this account. (one of my other debit orders was ran twice due to a bank mistake). The very next day i got a call, they actually blacklisted me for missing ONE payment !?!?!??! and HENCE I CANNOT GET VEHICLE FINANCE ! The call centre agent treated me as if i was a thief or something. NOT IMPRESSED !

I have had this product for about 4 years, the intrest rates are ridiculous, they will call you every 2 minutes to come and pay and wen when you have finally paid it off they will find any excuse for you to continue with it. The systems in the banks are a week behind, when you make payments, they are not automatically updated.I wouldnt recoment it.

In all my time that i had this credit card not 1 day did i miss a payment, this month, they did not pick up my payment, i don`t get a courtesy call from them to ask for a payment, they jus sent me an sms to say that my account is over due & that a minimum amount must be paid by tomorrow, when i called the call centre they said my account has been blocked allready, for the time i had this card this is how they treat their customers,i mean its a month later that the sms has come, i`m totally disgusted.

I would like to thank African Bank for their understanding and assistance during my debt review process, especially in accepting the debt restructure as per my application. I have learnt a lot and intend to be more responsible in terms of credit management in the future, but most importantly a chance to sort out my finances.

IT IS ONE OF THOSE PRODUCTS YOU REGRET HAVING, THE INTEREST IS TOO HIGH. YOU ACTUALLY SPEND MORE MONEY ON PAYING INTEREST THAN REDUCING THE PRINCIPAL DEBT. THE REWARDS / BENEFITS ARE REDICULOUSLY LESS (VERY LIMITED).

I am having many years with this product but when I have a problem they dont listen to my problem,like I told them to increase my spot order but all was in vain my instalment doenst decrease.I am now unable to use my card which is destroyed hoping to get another one.I get messages confirming my credit that I can use.I now dont have excerse to that credit card anymore.
