We have had nothing but problems with the level of service we have received from SpectraMed. They are constantly rejecting claims or not paying on time. I would definatly not recommend this medical aid to anyone.

Despite numerous phones calls and consultations, and repeated faxed scripts, Spectramed and Optipharm could not sort out the correct medication to be delivered. After a year of frustration and irritation, we have had enough and am changing medical aids.

Try a pensioners option with no maternity benefits. This benefit can be included in another benefit where the limit is very low or does not exist. No one over 60 wants this benefit, especially if you have had a hysterectomy.

I wouldn't recommend this medidal aid to another person.They termininated my medical aid without notifying me and when I called no one could give me an answer and only to sat that I last paid my medical in Jan 2011 whereas I have proof of payment until March2011.I am left now with debts and they keep on saying they are investigating

The Service Sucks I wish i did not have to need medical Aid. When my son was born about a month ago it was a mission and still struggling to pay the debts because they SPECTRAMed cannot pay. They take you from pillar to POST not reccomended at all. And to think I have been with them for years only maybe because I never had to do a claim or got SICK-- I better go pay some other medical Aid that will render the Service

Hospital claim which they were supposed to claim they did not. After confirming with them, it was never paid and I had to pay it out of my own pocket. Company did not informed me that it will not be paid. Service provider wanted to blacklist me for that!

Spectramed is without a doubt, the absolute Best medical Scheme that South Africa has to offer. Their service is far outstanding, and the benefit cannot be matched by any other Scheme. The Gentleman who educated us about Spectramed, and Medical Aid as a whole, was extremely compitent, and very helpful in helping us make this wise move. I can say, without a doubt, that SPECTRAMED really values its customers and their healthcare cover. They have been extremely helpful in ensuring that my claims get paid out, their service staff have been very accommodating and attentive, and the people at SPECTRAMED I’ve dealt with are always friendly. I am at ease knowing that my healthcare cover is in such capable and experienced hands.
